What's Considered an Official Transcript?

Transcripts must be official. Transcripts submitted through the secure, online High School Portal are considered official. Hard copy transcripts must be in a school envelope, sealed by a school official and stamped by a school official.

For hard copy submissions, students may take the sealed transcript you provide them and place it in a larger envelope to stamp and address themselves.

NO faxed or emailed transcripts will be accepted. See the list below for electronic transcript services used by the Eligibility Center.

What Else Do I Need To Know About Sending Transcripts?

Students need to wait to have their transcripts sent until it includes all completed coursework from the school (unless the student qualifies for an early decision).

Students should request a complete, official transcript be sent as SOON as it is available.

Once the student has graduated high school, s/he needs to send ALL transcripts from post-secondary institutions and the transcript from the student's graduating high school. All post-secondary transcripts are required, including those from every summer class, online class, part-time college work, even transcripts from schools the student may have left before completing the term.

It is helpful (though not required) to include the appropriate cover page when sending hard copy transcripts. Students can access their personalized cover page from their online To Do List.

Transcripts submitted through the NAIA High School Portal do not need to be uploaded with a cover page.

The Eligibility Center can accept electronic transcripts through the following services:

  • Preferred: NAIA High School Portal Electronic Upload. The primary user of your high school can access the portal by logging into their account on PlayNAIA.org.
  • Parchment — When sending transcripts through this service, select Academic Destinations > Missouri > NAIA Eligibility Center. This ensures the transcript reaches the NAIA Eligibility Center.
  • Escrip-Safe
  • National Transcript Center
  • National Student Clearinghouse
  • ConnectEdu
