Men’s & Women’s Bowling

More than 25 NAIA member institutions have declared to participate for the 2010-2011 academic year. The sport will now serve a one-year provisional period. Students who plan to participate in an NAIA Emerging Sport are not required to register with the NAIA Eligibility Center unless they also plan to participate in an NAIA Championship Sport.

EMERGING SPORTS

Men’s & Women’s Competitive Cheer & Dance

In 2009 the NAIA took steps toward becoming the first collegiate governing body to host Competitive Cheer and Dance as a National Championship sport. Work is underway to formalize national regulations and formalize a national invitational competition. Students who plan to participate in an NAIA Emerging Sport are not required to register with the NAIA Eligibility Center unless they also plan to participate in an NAIA Championship Sport.

EMERGING SPORTS

Men’s Volleyball

The first Men's Volleyball invitational was held in 1999 while the sport was still considered a recognized sport. Men's Volleyball is under an emerging sports plan and currently hosts a national invitational tournament each spring. Students who plan to participate in an NAIA Emerging Sport are not required to register with the NAIA Eligibility Center unless they also plan to participate in an NAIA Championship Sport.
