High School Overview

High school administrators play an important role for students as they transition from high school to college.  Here's what you can do to help your NAIA-bound students realize their dreams of playing collegiate athletics. 

•

 Let your students know about the opportunities for 20,000 freshman student-athletes and a portion of the $450 million in aid available from NAIA colleges and universities each year.

•

 Encourage your students to find out about opportunities to play NAIA college sports at PlayNAIA.org.

 

 o  Find an NAIA School lets you search for NAIA schools that sponsor each sport.
o  NAIA Sports has highlight videos, factsheets and other fun sports facts.
o  NAIA Connections lets students complete a sports “resume” and send it to up to five NAIA schools,

•

 Remind students who register for the ACT and SAT to include the NAIA code 9876    on the list of places test scores should be sent.  

•

 Send official transcripts when requested by individual students.
 

Early decision for high school seniors
Students who have completed their junior year of high school and have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale OR who are midway through senior year and have at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and who have the minimum test scores required (18 ACT or 860 SAT), may obtain an eligibility determination before graduating from high school. Those students will need to request that their official transcripts be sent to the NAIA Eligibility Center and contact ACT or SAT to have their test scores sent directly.

 Register your high school with the NAIA Eligibility Center so you can ensure a smooth communication link for transcript submissions and monitoring the status of students from your school.
